Summer

The sun shines down on me

The sweat forms onto my skin

It gets hotter out

 

The pools uncover

The people put on swim suits

The kids splash around

 

The ice cream song play

The ice cream truck comes to town

Kids run for the truck

 

Short sleeve shirts are worn

The kids get out tricycles

They bike near the house

 

Sports

I Like to play sports

I compete with other teams

It is challenging

 

Some people watch them

Other like to play the sport

Some people just don’t like them

 

Some play in college

Some like to play in high school

Parents watch the games

 

It is good for health

A lot of people lose weight

They like to play them

The Man Who Does Everything

So, there is a teacher in my grade and his name is Mr. Purganan. He is a really great teacher. He knows a lot about basketball, volleyball and math. If you have a question on your homework you can go into his room and he will help you on anything . He is a really awesome teacher because if you have free time he will talk to you about anything.

Mr. P is also a coach. He coaches the 7^th grade boys basketball , 8^th grade boys volleyball, and 8^th grade girls volleyball . Mr. P is a really awesome basketball coach and player. If you like basketball you should try out . He is also a great volleyball player. If you like volleyball, you should try out . He will make you improve a lot when you are on his team.

If you have time you should come out and see him coach because is really good . Next Tuesday we have a home basketball game, 7^th grade plays at 4pm and 8^th plays at 5pm.

 

 

Baseball Great

Valentin Cerna has been playing for nine years, and has also won many awards. I remember when he hit his first home run and everybody got to sign his ball. That day was his last day of the season because T-ball was ending.

Years later Valentin was in farm league and hit four home runs. Farm league was a league for kids of young ages. The last season in farm he won the championship. He looked sad after the first year in the minors because he could have played one more year in farm with his brothers.

Every year there is a party for Grant Travel Baseball – another team Valentin was a player for. There was one event he wanted to do which was the home run derby for the minors and Valentin won the event!

Later, Valentin played one more year with Grant and moved to play for Antioch, a travel team. Most of the teammates in Grant came to play for Antioch, too. That year was pretty fun. He hit a walk-off triple in the championship in Milwaukee.

Now the team Valentin is in is Lake County Lightning travel team. He was excited to play for them and also part of his team from last year came with. The first year in the travel team his team went to two championships! One came in first and the other came in second.

The last year Valentin had a lot of fun. His team went to six out of eight championships. Four of them got first, and two won second place. Valentin’s team went out of town for the tournaments, and went to water parks. The last tournament was a big tournament for Lake County but the team did not do that well, however Valentin did. That tournament took place in Kentucky. He was selected for the All-Star team in the tournament from his team!

Now, Valentin is currently playing for Lake County Lightning 13u!

Sports – Are They For Everyone?

Sports aren’t for everyone, but everyone should at least try to find one sport that is at best interesting to them. Sports are a way to take your mind off of whatever is bugging you and/or just a way to have fun and do exercise.

I mean really, would you rather sit all day and do nothing, while you can be having fun with friends/ family and staying healthy at the same time? Some people might be saying, “That’s too much work!” Yea, but it will pay off by not having health issues! Some examples of health issues are: cholesterol problems and diabetes.

There are different sports you can choose from. For example, there is basketball, football, soccer, volleyball, hockey, and many more you can enjoy.
