The Real Reason the Titanic Sank

By, JQ

The Titanic, the biggest ship of it’s time.  It was said to be unsinkable, but on the night of April 14th 1912, it hit an iceberg and caused 1,700 deaths.  It was Bruce Ismay’s fault for the disaster of the Titanic because he wanted to use cheap materials, he rushed to finish it and he was un prepared for a crash.

First, it was Bruce Ismay’s fault because he used very cheap material.  He used cheap materials so he can save money.  If he would’ve used better materials the Titanic could’ve not crashed.

Another reason it was Bruce Ismay’s fault is because he rushed to finish it.  He  rushed to finish the Titanic so they could leave at a certain time.  If he would’ve took his time it would’ve been more durable.

The final reason it was Bruce Ismay’s fault is because he did not prepare the Titanic for a crash.  If he would’ve had enough lifeboats and more binoculars it could’ve saved everyone and no one could have died.

Some people think that it was Thomas Andrews ‘ fault because he was the builder of the ship.  However, Bruce Ismay could’ve gave Thomas Andrews better materials.  Others may also say that Thomas Andrews should’ve asked Bruce Ismay for better materials.  Yet again,  they are wrong because Bruce Ismay should’ve known that better materials is better, and because he had the final say.

In conclusion,  Bruce Ismay is to blame for the Titanic disaster because he used cheap materials, rushed to finish and did not prepare for a crash .  if Bruce Ismay bought good materials the Titanic might have not sunk it could’ve just had a couple scratches .  Lawmakers need to ensure that in the future, cruise ships should use good and sturdy materials that are reliable.  Also, they need to have enough lifeboats to hold everyone on the ship.

Mr. “Big and Bad” Bruce Ismay

By, Odalys

There are a lot of reasons why the Titanic sank. But who is really at fault for the Titanic disaster? Bruce Ismay is at fault of the Titanic disaster because he hired inexperienced workers, he pressured the builders to build faster, and used cheap materials.

First, Bruce Ismay is at fault because he hired inexperienced workers. He hired them because the more experienced workers cost more money. He hired them because he wanted to save money.

Second, Bruce Ismay is at fault because he pressured the captain to go faster and he also pressured the builders to build faster. He pressured the builders to build faster because he wanted to get there faster to show off. If the captain was going at the right speed, he could’ve reacted faster and could’ve avoided the ice burg.

Lastly, Bruce Ismay is at fault of the Titanic disaster because he chose the cheaper materials. Bruce Ismay chose the cheaper rivets because he was cheap and wanted to save money. He also chose the cheaper rivets because it was easier and faster to use the iron rivets than the steel rivets.

Some think that Thomas Andrews is at fault because he could’ve built the ship better. However, Bruce Ismay was in charge of how the money was spent. Others may also say that Captain Smith is at fault because he was going too fast. Yet again, they are wrong because Bruce Ismay was the one who made him go faster.

As you can see, Bruce Ismay is to blame for the Titanic disaster because he hired inexperienced workers, pressured the captain to go faster and pressured the builders to build faster, and chose the cheaper materials. If Bruce Ismay had not bought cheaper materials, then the Titanic might not have sank. So if you ever go on a cruise, ask if they used the right materials, and make sure the captain is going at the right speed. Have a safe trip!

Who Really Sunk the Titanic?

By, Luke

People thought the Titanic was unsinkable but when tragedy happened they were proven wrong and the Titanic was sinkable. Bruce Ismay is at fault for the Titanic disaster because of him ordering cheap materials, he rushed his builders to build the ship, and he only had 16 lifeboats.

First, Bruce Ismay is to blame because he used cheap materials. Bruce wanted the Titanic to be built faster so he went the easy route and used cheap materials. He used cheaper rivets and cheaper metal. If he haven’t have used those cheaper materials it may have had a much higher chance of not sinking. It still would’ve hit the ice berg but I think that it wouldn’t have let as much water in.

Second, Bruce rushed his workers to build the Titanic faster. Bruce must have had a time limit to build the Titanic so that’s why he rushed his crew. The workers who built the ship were also very unexperienced people. Him having that crew also is another reason why I belive he sunk the Titanic.

Lastly, Bruce only had 16 lifeboats. So since there wasn’t enough of them many people died. This follows along with his cheapness. He didn’t make as many lifeboats. Bruce thought it would have been clattered on the ship. Personally, I would rather be safe than sorry.

Some people, belive that it was Thomas Andrews’ fault for the cheap materials. However, Bruce ordered the materials and Thomas Andrews had no say. Others also said that the captain didn’t have enough lifeboats so it was his fault.  Yet again they are wrong a because Bruce didn’t want the deck to be cluttered so he didn’t get all lifeboats that he needed.

As you can see Bruce Ismay is clearly at fault for the Titanic disaster because of cheap materials, not enough lifeboats, and he rushed his inexperienced workers. If Bruce would have used more expensive materials, more lifeboats, and had a better crew to build the boat it may have not have sunk. Also many more people would have survived the disaster. Imagine if the Titanic made it to New York that may have changed the future for people. It may have made their kids have kids or have someone do something great for human kind. Also imagine what all the people could’ve  told their children about how they road the “Unsinkable Ship” but sadly instead we here the dreadful story of the sinking of the Titanic.

It’s All His Fault

By: Kayla

Der Untergang der Titanic
The “unsinkable” ship called the Titanic had sunk. And Bruce Ismay is to blame.  Bruce Ismay is to blame because he was cheap with his money, pressured the captain to go fast also he wanted more room for first class so he only put 16 lifeboats aboard.

First, Bruce Ismay is to blame because he was cheap on money. Bruce Ismay wanted to use his money for more things first class to do on the ship.  If Bruce Ismay would have spent the money on the right material instead of the cheap stuff it may have stayed floating longer.

Second, Bruce Ismay is to blame for pressuring the captain to go fast. Bruce Ismay wanted to get to America quicker so he forced the captain to go faster. If Bruce Ismay wouldn’t have forced the captain to go faster he may have been able to turn away from the iceberg.

Lastly, Bruce Ismay is to blame because he wanted more room for first class so he put fewer lifeboats. If Bruce Ismay would have put more than 16 lifeboats more people could have lived.

Some people believe that it was Thomas Andrews’ fault because he should have used better material. However Bruce Ismay to blame because he had the final say in how the money was spent. Others, feel that it was captain Smiths fault for going faster than he should have. Yet again, they are wrong because it was Bruce Ismay’s fault for pressuring him to go fast.

As you can see Bruce Ismay is to blame for the disaster because he was cheap with money, forced the captain to go fast and wanted more room for first glass. If Bruce Ismay had not pressured Captain Smith to go fast the Titanic could have turned away from the iceberg and so many people could have survived.

Titanic’s True Story On How It Sank

By, Brian

Titanic’s sank in 1912 and they found it under the deep ocean 73 years after. Bruce Ismay is the one to blame for the Titanic disaster. The reason why a lot of people blame him because he made poor designs. He also only wanted 16 lifeboats for the Titanic. Bruce Ismay also was very cheap with money and materials for the Titanic. He also pressured captain to go fast.

First, Bruce Ismay made poor designs for the Titanic. Bruce Ismay also made poor decisions for the Titanic. For example, he didn’t design the hull strong enough. That was the location the iceberg hit. If Bruce Ismay made the Titanic stronger it would survived the hit against the Iceberg. He just needed stronger materials for the hull.

The second reason why Bruce Ismay is to blame is because he only ordered 16 lifeboats because he wanted more space. But Thomas Andrews wanted 48 lifeboats. Bruce Ismay rejected 48 to 16. Everybody wanted more space for First Class. If we had 48 life boats many more lives would have been saved that night. Thomas Andrews should have known better when agreeing with 48 lifeboats.

Third, Bruce Ismay was also cheap while making the Titanic. Thomas Andrews should have known better while making the Titanic. Many people say it’s Thomas Andrews’ fault  for the disaster but it’s not. If the Titanic was made better it would survive the hit of the iceberg. Some people believe that it was Thomas Andrews’ fault because he should have used better materials. However Bruce Ismay is still to blame because he had the final say in how much money was put on the Titanic. Yet again they are wrong because in reality Bruce Ismay was the one who pressured Captain Smith and Thomas Andrews.

In conclusion, Bruce Isamy is to blame for the sinking because he used bad materials. He was also very cheap. Also, he pressured Captain Smith to go faster. If Bruce Ismay ordered 48 lifeboats than many more lives would have been saved. The world would be way different if the Titanic didn’t sink. The world would also would be very different because many people would not have to solve that many mysteries.

The Unsinkable Ship

By, Edgar

The Titanic is not the biggest ship anymore! Bruce Ismay is to blame for the Titanic disaster because he was cheap with his money, only put 16 life boats, and he was competitive.

First, Bruce Ismay is to blame for because he was cheap with his money. If he would have spent more money on better material. It probably would have taken longer to sink. If Bruce Ismay bought more boats than maybe more people would have been saved.

Second, Bruce Ismay is to blame for because he only chose 16 life boats. If Bruce Ismay had gotten the proper amount of life boats more people have been saved. If Bruce Ismay had gotten more life boats maybe more life boats have gone back to save the people in the ocean.

Third, Bruce Ismay is to blame for because he was too competitive. If Bruce Ismay is to blame for because he was too competitive. If Bruce Ismay would have slowed down the ship, maybe they would not have hit the ice berg as hard as they did. If Bruce Ismay would not have rushed the captain he would not have hit the ice berg too hard and maybe it would not have done so much damage so quickly.

Some people believe that it was Thomas Andrews fault because he should have used better materials. However, Bruce is to blame for because he had the final say in where the money goes. Others feel that it was Thomas Andrews fault because he only put 16 life boats. They are wrong because it was Bruce’s fault because he was the man in charge of the life boats. He could’ve had the last word.

As you can see, Bruce Ismay is to blame for the Titanic disaster because he was cheap with his money, only had 16 life boats, and he was competitive. If my person has not only not only put 16 life boats on the ship than more people would have been saved. Law makers need to ensure that the ships have the right amount of life boats and the other stuff that all boats should have. They need in the boats like life jackets.

Bruce Ismay or Bruce SINKMAY?

By, kt.ty

Imagine walking into a brand new ship, and smelling the fresh paint, or the luxury of sleeping in fresh new sheets. Then imagine that very ship sinking beneath your feet in a matter of three days. One person is to blame for this terrible crime and that is Bruce Ismay. Bruce Ismay is responsible for the sinking of the Titanic for reasons such as, owning the White Star Line, having the last say on the ship’s appearance, and lastly not using completely safe materials.

First, Ismay is to blame for the titanic’s sinking because he is the owner of the White Star Line. He was way too prideful for a ship that was way unsafe. Whenever things were put into place, he was fine with it. He was more aware of how nice the ship was looking, than how safe it was. If he would have been more worried about how safe the ship was and he didn’t “okay” everything without thinking more people would’ve survived.

Secondly, Bruce is to blame because going hand in hand with the first reason he had the last say on all improvements. Whenever ship improvements were made Bruce would be the one to call the shots. Even some of the “improvements” that were made to put passengers in danger, but Bruce didn’t care as long as the ship looked pretty. If he would’ve been more concerned about safety he would’ve made the bulkheads larger and the ship might not have sunk.

Lastly, Bruce didn’t use the best materials that there was. Instead of using steel rivets, he chose iron because it was cheaper. If he would’ve used steel rivets the ship would’ve been tougher to break apart and the ship may not have sunk.

Some people may believe that the weather situation was inevitable and there was no way of avoiding it. However, since Ismay had the last call on all safety when they ran into the iceberg the way the ship was made, the rivets would’ve broken due to rushed production. Others may also say it was Andrew’s fault for not pushing for better safety.Yet again, they are wrong because Ismay wouldn’t change his mind because he was more worried about the luxury of first class.

As you can see, Bruce Ismay is to blame for the Titanic disaster because he owned the White Star Line, had the last say on everything, and didn’t use completely safe materials. If Bruce would have made the ship safer, though the ship would’ve ran into the Iceberg it may not have sunk, may have sunk slower, and many lives would have been saved. If the Titanic would have made a successful voyage, do you think that on one of its later voyages the same thing might have happened? Maybe the same  boating laws would have been established. If you decide to travel by boat I urge you to pay attention to all safety precautions!

Bruce in Hot Water

By, C.B.

christiThe Titanic. The ship of dreams. What once was called the unsinkable ship is now rotting at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. Bruce Ismay is the cause of this. Ismay rushed production of the ship, only used 16 lifeboats, and made all the bulkheads smaller.

First, Bruce Ismay is to blame for the Titanic disaster because he rushed production of the ship. He didn’t want people to wait any longer as their schedule was already set back enough. He decided to rush the production causing him and his crew to use faulty materials and skip emergency training. If he would’ve taken his time building the ship, then maybe he would’ve thought to use better materials and the ship wouldn’t have sank.

Next, Bruce Ismay is to blame because he only used 16 lifeboats. The Titanic had the capacity to hold 48 lifeboats all together. Ismay only wanted to use 16 because he thought that the full 48 would take up too much space on the upper deck. If he would’ve put all 48 lifeboats on the ship more people could’ve been saved.

Lastly, Bruce Ismay is to blame because he made the bulkheads smaller. Ismay thought that the bulkheads were too big and would take up too much space in first class so he made them smaller. If he were to make the bulkheads bigger, the water might not have overflowed much and the ship could’ve been saved.

Some people believe that Thomas Andrews is to blame for using poor materials. However, as an executive, Ismay could’ve ordered Andrews to use better equipment. Others could say that it was the lifeboat laws that allowed him to have the 16 lifeboats. Yet again, they’re wrong because Bruce Ismay could’ve listened to his crew and used the 48 lifeboats. Some people also believe that it was the captain’s fault for speeding toward the iceberg. However, Bruce Ismay is the one who urged the captain to go faster.

As you can see, Bruce Ismay is to blame for the sinking of the Titanic because he rushed production, used 16 lifeboats, and made the bulkheads smaller. If Bruce Ismay hadn’t done these things and built the ship the right way, many people could’ve been saved. Had the Titanic passengers made a successful voyage across the Atlantic, we could’ve known the secrets and mysteries of the truly unsinkable ship.

Ismay in Trouble

MarielaBy, M.A.

2,200 people were aboard the biggest ship of their time, but what they didn’t realize was they were headed straight into the biggest disaster of their lives. Bruce Ismay is to blame for the sinking of the Titanic. He is at fault because he rushed ship building, didn’t have enough lifeboats onboard, and pressured the captain.

First, Bruce Ismay is to blame for the Titanic disaster because he rushed ship building. Ismay rushed ship building, which resulted in the ship being built improperly. If Ismay wouldn’t have rushed building of the ship, maybe the Titanic wouldn’t have sunk, or at least stay afloat longer.

Second, Ismay is to blame for the Titanic disaster because he didn’t have enough lifeboats on the ship, or at least the required amount. If he would have had enough lifeboats, more people could have been saved.

Lastly, Ismay is to blame for the Titanic disaster because he pressured the Captain. Ismay pressured the Captain to speed up the ship. If Ismay wouldn’t have pressured the Captain, it would have been easier to get out of the iceberg’s path.

Some people believe that it was the Captain’s fault for cancelling boat drills. However, Ismay pressured the captain by cancelling all safety procedures altogether. Others may also say that it was the lifeboat laws’ fault for allowing Ismay to have only 16 lifeboats on the ship. Yet again, they are wrong because Ismay should have listened to his crew and follow the law.

The day was April 15, 1912 and what was thought to be an unsinkable ship, was sinking. Who, or what, could have led up to this tragic disaster? Bruce Ismay is to blame for the Titanic disaster because he did not get the best materials, cut down the life boats, and rushed production.

First, Bruce Ismay is to blame for the Titanic disaster because he did not get the best materials for what people thought was the best ship. If Bruce made the workers use good, or better materials for Titanic it could have held the ship together better. How the ship was designed it was weaker in some parts and required certain rivets that Ismay did not provide.

Second, Ismay is to blame for the Titanic disaster because he cut down the amount of life boats. He cut the number of lifeboats down to make more room for first class. If there were more life boats more people could have been saved. If he was really thinking about the passengers he would not have cut down the number of life boats

Lastly, Ismay is to blame for the Titanic disaster because he rushed production. The reason he felt the need to rush production was because the sister ship of the Titanic came back for repairs. This pushed back the debut of the Titanic. So instead of still taking time with the ship he made his inexperienced workers work faster and harder, instead of working at regular pace and making sure there was not anything faulty. Since he was rushing to get it finished the Titanic set sail during April. You make think that this is not a big deal but April is iceberg season, meaning there is more icebergs then there normally would be in the North Atlantic.

Some people believe that it was Thomas Andrews’ fault, because he was the builder of the ship and he did not make big enough bulk heads. However, Bruce was the boss of him and if he thought that it was a problem, which it was, he would have and should have adressed it. Others may also say that  it was Captain Smiths’ doing for going to fast. yet again, they are wrong because Ismay kept telling the Captain to go faster. The Captain could not have listened to him that is true, but it was his retirement year and why not go out with a bang, unfortunately they took it too serious.

As you can see Bruce Isamy is to blame for the Titanic disaster because he did not get the right amount of lifeboats, he rushed production, and did not have the right materials. If he would have used his time and have the right materials then the Titanic might have not sank. But if it still did a lot more lives could have been saved with more life boats. Imagine if the Titanic arrived safely to New York. No soul would have been lost and no tale untold about the Titanic, and we could’ve thanks Bruce Ismay.
