Another Day, Another Dollar

Another day another dollar, my father used to say, and right now I can most definitely agree. Speaking of dollars I am about to be late to work, again! I don’t have the best paying job in the world, but it pays the bills. Oh if you are wondering I am a librarian, and before you even think about it, no I’m not 80!

But, back to the point I am about to be late to work so I need to get going! I throw my hair up in a quick bun and start running down my apartment buildings stairs, and in the process almost run into the door that connects with the outside. So I shove the door open and I slam into this guy’s shoulder. All I can hear is myself saying, “Oh my goodness I am so sorry!!”

While he is sitting there laughing at me, I’m about to bawl my eyes out, I feel so bad.

“It’s fine, I just have never seen a girl that gets upset about hitting some random person with a door.” He explains while rolling his solder.

“I- I wait what is that supposed to mean?!” I say while trying not to get to defensive.

“Nothing, just that people usually say sorry and then just leave not freak out.”

“Ohh, but sorry again but I have to get to work and I am already late.”

“Hey! It’s fine don’t sweat about it but can I take you out to get some coffee some time?”

“Umm, yeah sure.” I whisper, as I feel my face melting off my skull. He hands me his phone and I really quickly type in my number. I give him back his phone and looks at me and asks

“Just to make sure this is your number so if I call I will hear your voice?”

“Yeah.” I giggle.

“Okay. I just had to ask, but nice to meet you ummm,” he looks down at his phone.

“Isabella.”

“Yes nice to meet you too.”

I procrastinate waiting for him to tell me his name.

“Oh yeah, I’m Justin.”

We both exchange smiles and shake hands give each other one last look, and we go our separate ways. As I walk/run up the street to get to the library I see my best friend, Lily standing in front of the door tapping her foot waiting for me. She sees me and gives the death stare, and I can’t help but say, “I’m sorry okay, I was running late and then bumped into this guy named Justin and I got his number and he is really..”

“You met someone named Justin and you bumped him with a door and you got his number. Am I getting this right?” Lily says not looking interested at all.

“Well, actually I bumped him with the door first and then met him but anyways..”

“Okay.. Okay let’s get inside before we both get fired! You can tell me about this guy you hit with the door later.”

Lily smiles. “You really are the most awesome friend anyone could ask for!”

Do We Have Enough Power?

I think that the United States should annex the Philippines. I think it is a good idea to annex them because we could take them in and educate them, so they can become successful people and make the United States of America better. Also, everyone deserves to have an education. In “Document C,” William Mckinley clearly states that, “There was nothing left for us to do but to take them all, and to educate the Filipinos.”

Another reason why I think we should annex the Philippines is so we can show them self government. We need to show them that the right way to independence is using self-government. According to “Document B” the Philippines needed our help because they were lost without us. If we hadn’t taken over the Philippines, other countries such as Germany, England, and Japan would have taken them over and they would have had more power.

My last reason that led me to believe that the United States should take over the Philippines was because we needed to grow out our empire. Some ways that growing our empire would benefit us, is because we would have more trading opportunities. In “Document I” it shows that the whole world was just waiting for us to get rid of the Filipinos. Just so they can have the Philippines, and yet they were getting mad at us for wanting the same thing they wanted.

In my opinion it was very immature how the rest of the world was mad at us for winning at a game of rock, paper, scissors. I mean they were part of the game too but we had better luck and won the game. They should just stop whining and get over it.

Should the U.S. Annex the Philippines?

I think that the United States should have annexed the Philippines because the Philippines did not have a stable government and was weak. According to ‘’Document B’’, if the United States did not annex the Philippines, either Germany, England, or Japan could have taken over. If one of the other countries had taken over the Philippines, then that country would have had more power. If the U.S annexed the Philippines, we would have a great opportunity to gain some power and expand our empire.

Also, another reason why we should annex the Philippines is because the Philippines needed education. According to ‘’Document D’’, if we educate the Filipinos, later on they would read the “Declaration of Independence”, and the Constitution and mock us. That would be a down fall. But we will still have more power. The United States wanted to point the residents in the right direction towards independence by leading them into a self-government. This leads into reason one.

Lastly, it was necessary to annex the Philippines because it was God’s plan. It was God’s plan to make America grow. God knew that America was going to annex other countries. ‘’Documents B and D’’ say it was America’s duty to civilize, Christianize the Filipinos and educate them on America’s ideas of liberty.

Although everyone suffered from this painful process on annexing the Philippines. America got to annex them at the end. A lot of countries were mad at us for winning. It was God’s plan for us to win.

Video Game Designer

Do you think it is cool to play video games and want to learn how they are

made? Well video game designer is the career for you. This career is going to be

about game designing in the video gaming career. This job caught my attention

because I want to create the games I love to play. I think it is really cool to see

what goes into them and see how they work. There are so many options in the

video gaming career. Full Sail University is the best school in the US. The Art

University is the second best school in the US. In this outline I will be showing all

the things in the video gaming career like what you need to get in to the best

schools and the job, and what a typical day would be like, and some of the tools

you get to play with, and how much money you make a year.

 

You need a high school diploma and in some positions you need bachelors

and masters. The best colleges to attend are Full Sail University in Winter Park,

2. Tuition is $17,764 through $21,133 a year. This college is different by providing a more hands on approach and by giving online degrees. You need a bachelors in game designing which take four to five years of schooling. You need a 2.5 gpa average to get in to Full Sail University. This is how you get in to the best schooling for video game designer career.

 

This is what my job is and what it does. My job is

video game designing and it looks pretty fun from my point of view. A typical day

is you go to work and sit down in your desk and sometimes you get to go to

these meetings and say your thoughts and your ideas and about what you want

to create and if you are lucky you get to create it. The most important thing in my

job is to have fun and love what you are doing and do not be afraid to share your

ideas. My job is important because video games make up a lot of the stock market and

without that a lot of things would not work. If my job did not exist a lot of things

would be change like what would kids and adults do when they do not  want to go outside or watch TV. My job impacts the community by bringing job and

entertainment to people of all ages. You need skills like how to program codes

into the game, and you have to be organized, and you have to speak up and

share your ideas. I hope you know a little more about my job and why it is

important.

 

Now you get to know how much you get paid! I do not know how much my job pays hourly. My job pays about $58,253 a year but, that’s only when you start. The more experience you have the more you make. If you work there for 20 years you can earn up to $120,000 a year. If you get a bachelors you can get more money because there are more positions that open up with the bachelors. I could not really find any benefits for my job. My job does give you a 401k but it varies on how much you get depending on who or what company you work for.

 

The Day I Died

The day has finally come, even though it’s only been about 5 days. I was scared to leave my home. We were involved in a blizzard and we against our arch nemesis and it was not going to be pretty. Some of us were the first ones to fall but then suddenly the clouds couldn’t take it no more. The clouds bursts and everybody came falling down. I wasn’t a part of the first battle it would continue on the ground. All the kids came running out and started a snowball fight and the war continued. Someone made a snowball and my life changed forever. The kid threw the snowball and suddenly my life changed. When he threw the ball a dog jumped up and ate the snowball and I was a goner

Should the US Annex the Philippines?

The US should not annex the Philippines. The Philippines should be able to control themselves because they shouldn’t have to worry about every move they make. If they mess up once they could be sentenced to death.

The Philippines wanted freedom, so they rebelled against Spain. The US helped Philippines with rebelling. So the US took control of the Philippines, but they still wanted control of themselves. But then US had the choice to make them a colony, which would be beneficial to the US.

One reason I think we shouldn’t annex the Philippines is because everyone should be entitled to whatever they want to do; unless they are an underage child with parents. That’s the only way “annexing” should be allowed. In “Document A” it says, “we hold with Abraham Lincoln, that ‘no man is good enough to govern another man without that others consent. When a man governs himself, that is self government, but when he governs himself and also another man, that is more than self government – that is despotism.” To me this means that no one should be ruled by someone else; they should be ruled by themselves.

Another reason I believe US shouldn’t annex the Philippines is because when we teach them to read and write, maybe they can rebel against us. They could’ve used things against us such as, and using the wisdom we gave them and turning against us. The Declaration of Independence says everyone should have independence and their own freedom. In “Document D” it states, “We dare not educate them lest they to read the declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States and mock us for our inconsistency.” The Philippines will take us as hypocrites.

The last reason I believe the US should not annex the Philippines is because by taking them over, this will get Spain upset. This will eventually lead to war. Our army is good but everyone knows Spain has a lot more to win. Plus, there is no point in going to war just to get another colony. Why would we go through all the trouble, and the spend money just to go to war, that we know we’re going to lose? It’s pointless. In “Document E” it says, “The constant outrages and taunts, which have caused misery of the people of Manila and finally the useless conferences and the contempt shown the Philippine government prove the premeditated transgression of justice and liberty.” This means that so many people are fighting for the Philippines justice and liberty but people are getting tired of it.

In conclusion, with all of the evidence I have given, I feel like the US should not annex the Philippines. It would be unfair, tyrannical, and hypocritical.

Rant

By, ZackYou want to know what I hate in my school?  Roasting.  Roasting is so stupid and it just makes the person you “roast” feel badly.  It’s pointless!  When you see somebody walking in the hall with flip flops on you don’t need to roast their entire life because of it.  And when you roast someone it can go too far and you can get in trouble.  So ask yourself…is roasting really worth it?  What if you got roasted everyday?  How would that make you feel?  Roasting has made people not even want to come to school.  It’s sad that people need to watch what they say, wear, and do just to avoid getting roasted.  I remember I got roasted and let me tell you something…it is not a fun experience to go through!  So the next time you see someone that you are about to roast, think about what I’m telling you right now.  ROASTING NEEDS TO STOP!

Lost In a New World

I had been asleep for many days not knowing if I was alive or not. Then after a while I could finally open my eyes. I stood up and I had felt shorter than usual. When I looked around I was on a beach. After a while I had gone to get a drink of water. I looked at me reflection and saw that I was a Pokémon! I had played the games for my whole life; I had turned into a Pikachu. I headed towards the forest and I heard a noise, it was a Caterpie.

A Caterpie is a Pokémon that is shaped like a caterpillar and evolves very early in the game. The Caterpie had jumped out of the tree and went for a tackle attack. I didn’t know what moves I had so I did the same attack. I hit it as hard as I could and it went flying into the forest. The forest was silent for a while then a Pidgy flew overhead.

A Pidgy is a bird type Pokémon that eats bug type Pokémon like Caterpie. The Pidgy kept flying and I kept following it to try to get out. I came to a clearing in the forest so I ran to it. Then I was stopped by a huge Heracross.

A Heracross is a bug type Pokémon that has a head with two horns on it. The Heracross charged at me with a horn attack. So I tried to jump over the attack. Then after I got over the Heracross I used my “thunder shock” attack. Some Pokémon can use different attacks and those have types of elements. The elements are psychic, ghost, steel, fire, water, grass, thunder, normal, flying, fighting, and dark. After I shocked the Heracross it ran out of the forest. When I got out I saw a bunch of Pokémon.

I saw Ponyta and Rapidash running together. I saw a Tauros but something was wrong, it was charging at me! I ran as fast as I could but I couldn’t go fast enough and Tauros hit me and I went flying onto the Rapidashes back and it ran and I flew off it. Then a Snorlax came out and body-slammed me.

I woke up in my bed and I had a Pokémon game going on in front of me. I realized that it was a dream. So I went to bed and dreamed about being a Pokémon and then it was morning and I went to play some Pokémon games I have.

 

How to Dine With Ease

Imagine that you were told to bring a side dish to a formal work dinner. You can make garlic bread. Everyone loves garlic bread and it’s easy to make. You should trust me on this because I make garlic bread with my family when we can’t find anything we want to eat or want a different side dish with our meals. Today, I’ll be showing you how to make homemade garlic bread. Garlic bread is easy to make and a great side dish to any meal.

The first step is to this recipe is to prepare your ingredients. You will need garlic butter to spread on the bread. This gives your bread the garlic flavor. French bread, this is your bread in your garlic bread. You can use any type of bread. Have a baking sheet out. You need this to bake the bread to make it crunchy. Cheese is optional; this is if you want cheesy garlic bread. Lastly, you need a knife to cut your bread with. Now that we finished step one we are going to move on to step two.

Step two is to get your baking sheet ready for baking. Grease your baking sheet with butter or nonstick baking spray. In this I will be using nonstick cooking spray. To make sure you greased the sheet well you can use Ziplock bags to spread the spray or butter around the baking sheet. Make sure you get every inch of the sheet greased so the dose not burn or stick to the baking sheet. Now that we finished your baking sheet ready let’s see how we get your bread ready.

Step three is to get your bread ready to bake. First thing you need to do is to cut the French bread into pieces. You can cut them into any shape you want. Make sure there the same size and big so they want burn in the oven. Then spread the garlic butter one the top and sides of the bread. Make sure not to put is optional, sprinkle cheese on top of your bread to make your garlic beard cheesy. You can put as much is needed. Now that we got the most important part of the recipe is done. Let’s see how we bake the garlic bread.

Step four is getting ready to bake. Place the bread on the baking sheet. Make sure they are separated evenly. Put the oven temperature to 350 decreases. Place the sheet in the oven. Then set the timer to 15 to 17 minutes. Finishing the garlic bread let’s see how we serve the garlic bread.

Step five is ready to serve. Take the baking sheet out of the oven after 10-17 minutes are up. Then take a plate out and tongs for the bread. Use the tongs to pick up the bread with and place them on the plate. Now they are ready to serve. You finished the recipe.

Now that I have showed you how to make garlic bread, you can see how easy it is to make. It is a fast and quick side dish to any meal. Thank you for listening. Hope next time you are invited to a formal work dinner you can use this recipe.

Titanic Diary Entries

Dear Diary,

Today will be one of the most memorable days of my life. I am about to board the Titanic one of the greatest ships ever made: the Titanic. I am honored to be the second mate on board this beautiful ship. Although I am only a crew member it is still wonderful to be on the Titanic. I just wish my kids and my parents were here to see it. I sure hope my kids are behaving themselves.

 

April 12, 1912

Dear Diary,

It has been two days, and this voyage has been going perfectly. The crew has been running the ship very well. The rooms that were staying in are a little cramped but I can manage. Everything has been great some if these rooms are outstanding, they’re some of the nicest rooms I’ve ever seen. Wow, I would kill for one of the rooms!

 

April 14, 1912

Dear Diary,

The ship has hit an iceberg. I wasn’t worried at first but now were sinking there is a lot of fighting on the ship and I have been loading people on to the life boats for a while now, if you are reading this please give these diary enters to my family. These may be my final words I’m about to jump off goodbye.
