christiThe Titanic. The ship of dreams. What once was called the unsinkable ship is now rotting at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. Bruce Ismay is the cause of this. Ismay rushed production of the ship, only used 16 lifeboats, and made all the bulkheads smaller.

First, Bruce Ismay is to blame for the Titanic disaster because he rushed production of the ship. He didn’t want people to wait any longer as their schedule was already set back enough. He decided to rush the production causing him and his crew to use faulty materials and skip emergency training. If he would’ve taken his time building the ship, then maybe he would’ve thought to use better materials and the ship wouldn’t have sank.

Next, Bruce Ismay is to blame because he only used 16 lifeboats. The Titanic had the capacity to hold 48 lifeboats all together. Ismay only wanted to use 16 because he thought that the full 48 would take up too much space on the upper deck. If he would’ve put all 48 lifeboats on the ship more people could’ve been saved.

Lastly, Bruce Ismay is to blame because he made the bulkheads smaller. Ismay thought that the bulkheads were too big and would take up too much space in first class so he made them smaller. If he were to make the bulkheads bigger, the water might not have overflowed much and the ship could’ve been saved.

Some people believe that Thomas Andrews is to blame for using poor materials. However, as an executive, Ismay could’ve ordered Andrews to use better equipment. Others could say that it was the lifeboat laws that allowed him to have the 16 lifeboats. Yet again, they’re wrong because Bruce Ismay could’ve listened to his crew and used the 48 lifeboats. Some people also believe that it was the captain’s fault for speeding toward the iceberg. However, Bruce Ismay is the one who urged the captain to go faster.

As you can see, Bruce Ismay is to blame for the sinking of the Titanic because he rushed production, used 16 lifeboats, and made the bulkheads smaller. If Bruce Ismay hadn’t done these things and built the ship the right way, many people could’ve been saved. Had the Titanic passengers made a successful voyage across the Atlantic, we could’ve known the secrets and mysteries of the truly unsinkable ship.
