Down A Dark Hall by Madison H.

In Lois Duncan’s realistic fiction book “Down A Dark Hall” is taken place in a boarding school in Blackwood village. The book is written in a first-person point of view because the main character is telling the story. The tone of the book is exciting because you don’t know what’s gonna happen next. The book starts with Kit Gordy going to a boarding school her parents are going on a honeymoon and she didn’t have a good feeling in the beginning and then throughout the time being there she has she has been having a lot of irregular things happen to her, she feels like there’s something more than what Madame Duret is telling her. I thought the book was good bc it put me on the edge of my seat and you never knew what was gonna happen next.

Kit Gordy is a very likable person because she is a kind and very trustworthy person and she is very caring about her friends at her boarding school because there are not many girls there and she likes to ask her friends how they’re doing every day. In my book, the main character learned that she should be nice to everyone because you might need help from them along the way, The main idea of my book is that it wants to know what is so creepy about the Blackwood boarding school. My theme is doing what you want to do, not what someone else tells you to.

This book is also a movie and some other books by Lois Duncan that have the same genre is “Summer Of Fear”, “Killing Mr. Griffin” and “Don’t Look Behind You”. I would recommend this book to boys and girl between the ages of 11+ if you are interested in scary books. I give this book 9/10 stars because it was overall a pretty good book but the book was a little boring at some parts and it took them a long time to explain stuff but I did like the suspense of the book.
